Typically, architecture studios are named after their founders, or given a name that provides external identity to the practice. Anonymous Architecture isn't about providing a singular ego, identity, or pedagogy. Instead, it speaks to the unknown identities of the unheard voices that provide all of the work and input required for a successful design outcome.
Anonymous is a Western Canadian architecture and design practice that seeks to create enduring and specific architecture for people and place. Operating in Calgary and Vancouver, every project is an opportunity to contribute positively and generously to the social and urban fabric of our cities. We approach challenges with optimism and consider how design methodology can meet fundamental human needs. While the scale of our projects might shift — from custom homes in Calgary and Vancouver to civic and multi-residential projects across Alberta and British Columbia — each project is bound by a sense of placemaking, human-centred joy, and considered detail.
We engage architecture as an infrastructure that utilizes specificity and inter-disciplinary comprehension to bolster a combined sense of place, identity, and city. We seek to create architecture that instills joy and comfort for its users and visitors, crafting a sense of place. We buck trend, and instead consider the durability, patina, and timelessness of design as a primary language experienced through material. Our studio methodology is process and client driven, hands-on, and entirely collaborative. We utilize all ideation as a means of embracing experimentation, and engage in the habit of iterative testing and interrogation.
Anonymous Architecture is registered with the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA) and the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC), and operates with decades of experience on projects throughout Western Canada.

While our architecture studio is based in Calgary, Alberta, we proudly serve clients throughout Western Canada, including Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Whistler, and communities on Vancouver Island like Tofino and Ucluelet. Our experience spans diverse landscapes — from Calgary's skyward prairie context to BC's rugged coastal and mountain environments — allowing us to create architecture that responds thoughtfully to each unique context.
