Tired of the current development recipe utilized in Calgary for multi-family residential projects, we sought to examine whether a more considered, more contextual, and more design-forward development could be economically viable while providing a unique urban identity.
The context of the site is what would be considered historic for Calgary, and specific material and massing cues were taken from the surrounding community. The development features a mix of studio, 1, and 2 bedroom units, all with contained balconies which help the building maintain curb appeal and bolster inherent contextual value. The study included a full financial feasibility study and development management strategy.
